         Content Knowledge

I have started to teach over 20 years ago, fresh out of High School: ESOL for Kindergarteners, during Medical School: Biology and Chemistry at Middle School level, and five years previous to GSU Grad School: subbstitute teacher in public schools, K-12, and French Instructor privately, K-12. I have always been interested in Science and Languages, but I decided to choose Science.

My continuous scientific curiosity and the science classes I took at GSU helped me solidify my content knowledge. The project in Microbiology class and the essay from the Nature of Science class are samples of exemplary science content  coursework.

During the clinical year in a urban school in Atlanta, I had great mentors that assisted me in rediscovering my love for Biology. This Unit Plan , this Three-Dimensional Lesson , and this Stem-Gem Lesson show how I integrate science content knowledge in my teaching. My Reflection shows the path of how I achieved mastery on content knowledge, my ability to understand science and to help correcting the potential student misconceptions.
